Senior Counselor

Who We Are: Camp Fort Greene is a place for kids to learn about the world around them through play, community and summer fun. After a day of active indoor and outdoor explorations, our campers positively glow with excitement and the joy of making fresh discoveries. Young people learn so much about science, art, and music in our program – but, mostly, they learn about themselves. Camp Fort Greene is committed to giving each child a hands-in-the-soil, play-based summer. At Camp Fort Greene, our campers go home sweaty, dirty, and radiantly happy.

Who You Are: Senior Counselors are responsible for leading a group of 15 campers with two Junior Counselors under their direction. Senior Counselors are expected to follow the established curriculum plan and schedule but are encouraged to contribute their own expertise and create an individualized approach to each investigation. We are looking for energetic, positive and collaborative counselors who will create an unforgettable summer experience for our campers and keep them safe.

Qualifications

B.A or B.S in a related field (Master's Degree preferred)
Must have classroom teaching experience or extensive experience working with youth
Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Must be CPR First Aid certified and/or agree to expanded CPR Pro Training with Advanced First Aid
Must agree to a background check

Junior Counselor

Who You Are: A passionate college student or graduate who is looking for a rewarding summer experience. Our Junior Counselors are responsible, hardworking, flexible, learn to take direction and work as a team. They have a “can do” spirit and never ending energy!

Qualifications

Must be a current college or university student or recent graduate
Must be CPR First Aid certified and/or agree to expanded CPR Pro Training with
Advanced First Aid
Must agree to a background check

After Camp Care Counselor

After Camp Care Counselors manage and execute our After Camp Program which runs from 3-6pm daily. Responsibilities include managing a group of campers in passive play, organized arts and crafts, snack and rest time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must agree to a background check
Must have extensive experience in childcare
Must have CPR training and/or agree to participate in an expanded CPR PRO training class
